What Fact Amazes You Every Time You Think Of It?

What amazes me - how very short life is, even if a person gets many years. I start every day with the same routine, and many days seem to drag by when I don't have much to do. I don't want to change my routine because it works for me - I start the morning with a shower and shave, then breakfast, then check email, check SF, glance at my calendar for things I plan to do for the day, start doing the little ones, then walk a mile, and before I know it, it's time to start lunch. It's easy to develop an illusion that time stays much the same, when in reality, it's flying by at a relentless pace.
 
What amazes me is how many people are in a given area. For example, in a 50 mile radius of where I live in New Jersey there are 5.3 million people. We are on the east coast so this is basically north, west and south. We pass countless people in our car, going where??? All busy, living their lives. Work, chores, appointments, school. Pay bills, budget for a vacation. New clothes. Gas for the car. etc, etc, etc.
It all goes on. Every day, every hour. Each of us think we are so important yet we are one of 5.3 million people. Look down from a plane and see all the lights, all the homes, all the high rises. All the people. Like ants in a way.
My first thought is perspective especially when I get the notion that I rule the universe and my desires and demands are of prime importance. 5.3 million makes me pause and think. just some thoughts

life is indeed short. At 77 I look at photo's of my kids who are now 50. My granddaughter is 13. where did the time go????????
Time is consistent. we move slower, however as we get older. So much I could get done in a day at 50. Not at 77. Never the less life is good. I still see the blue sky, walk my dog. Kiss my wife. Life is good.

I am also fascinated with the amount of traffic on the freeways/highways out of peak hours.
So many people not having to work, so many people on the beaches every day.
There are too many people. World population is growing by over 60 million people a year.
Last year in the 12 months to June, Australia's population grew by 420,000 people.
When will the madness cease?

Absolutely..double absolutely...it amazes every single day ...I think why are these people not at work, why are the pubs, the stores. the cafe's the beaches all full in the middle of the day on a weekday. Why are the roads heaving with traffic in the middle of the day?

Not very long ago, you could guarantee going somewhere in the middle of the week, knowing the roads would be quieter, the stores, the pubs the cafes. the swimming pool all would be much quieter than the weekends ... not any more......

We are a tiny island we can't take the growth that huge places like Australia , Canada, USA.. Russia can take... yet in 2024... our population which was already at 69 million..increased by 755,000.. In 2025..our net population increased by 0.60%...

Our whole country is only the size of Oregon !..pop; 4.2 million... we have 70 million people that we know of... and plenty more we don't know in that same size space !

We cannot sustain this.. there's no new schools, no new hospitals, no new roads, no new dental or doctors 'surgeries... .. no new infrastructure being built to take this immgration numbers..... yet they continue to build houses at a rate of Knots, with NO extra facilites to cope with them...
 
I am amazed at the human body ā€“ how it grows from one cell to billions of cells that somehow create systems and develop into organs and tissues and form a human being. What also amazes me is how airplanes fly through the skies. Although I understand the physics/aerodynamics of how they fly, it still amazes me.

It is really sad that there is no way to stop this madness, madness is the wrong word, catastrophe is what it is.
This is why I have no trouble in removing all the corruption that is ensuring societies demise.
Sickening in the extreme.
