What happened to twin size bed sheets?

Product "selection" is often quite limited in small towns....local stores only stock items that they can sell fairly quickly. Larger stores...Walmart, Target, and even Dollar General, etc....still sell basic Twin sheets.
However, with your present eye/health conditions, you probably find it difficult to travel any distance. You would be well advised to get a Credit Card and begin to do much of your shopping online. After all, we all get older, and face limitations....so planning for such eventualities is necessary.

The smallest I can find around here is Twin XL
I'd never heard of them, but now I'll know when I settle down someplace to check for the twin sheet length dimension. I guess it makes sense with how tall some people are. Toilets come in different heights too, as I've discovered from staying at hotels, I feel like I need a box so my feet don't dangle.

I'm surprised they are hard to find actually. I have a queen bed and wouldn't mind having a regular double again but the cats need the room also.

Can you safety pin the bottom sheet in place at the foot of the bed? Sheets like to shift anyway.

I have long length sheet grippers that are meant to go under the width of the mattress , but eventually they get stretched out or the fasteners break. I can't find the long ones anymore, just the ones you showed taht go on the corners. Pins just tear the sheet. I have a real problem with the fitted sheet bunching up and an over-sized sheet exacerbates the problem.

We have difficulty finding fitted sheets for a deep (12") mattress. Flat sheets are fine as you just tuck them in. We also like coloured sheets - never white, and nicely patterned duvet covers.
Dunelm..it's where I got all my extra deep sheets.... they do up to 40 cm deep... 12 inches is 30/32 cm.....I have 14 inches so Igte the 40cm deep ones ..Look here they have a big choice of colours..

I tried, but the sheet still bunches up.
yep that happens if the sheets are too big. About a year ago I bought a patterned fitted sheet online..I usually get plain from the Linen shop.. but I loved this pattern so much I bought the sheets .. however because I have a small double.. they only sold single size sheets, normal double size or king size, no inbetween sizes .

I got the normal double whch was just 6 inches bigger than I needed, thinking it would be fine because any extra can be tucked under.. but despite them being fitted sheets, they don't stay tucked under at all...they do as you say deb, puff up and lie like a parachute landed on the bed...very annoying.. and further ,they keep coming undone, so I have to tuck them in every other day

Lesson learned !!

Thanks for that. I'm rarely in Dunelm as it's in the far side of the city, but I've got some good things there in the past. Our first 'port of call' is Harry Corry which is a lot nearer, but I'm not sure how widespread the stores are. By far the best sheets we bought were in Sweden, and IKEA have some good bed linen, but I'm not sure about there sizing.

Ikea are standard sizing no deep sheets as far as I'm aware. Not heard of Harry Corry, probably local to you, but do remember you can buy online with Dunelm...

I have a queen size bed and purchase my sheets from Costco. The corners never slide off since they are so well made. It’s free delivery but you need a credit card. Soon you are going to need a credit card. I ‘m not sure how you manage without one. I’d personally hate doing all that needless running around trying to find things.
