What have you thought about buying, but didn’t?

Sometimes if we’re lucky, we can talk ourselves out of buying something that would have been for us a bad purchase. For myself recently, the contemplated object was a drone! The boy in me thought that this would be great fun! I could fly it in my back yard, buzz it through my house, and see how the cats would react to it! Then the adult in me took over. What did I want a drone for? I’d have great fun with it for about a day or two, then probably either wreck it, lose it on someone’s roof, or simply grow bored with it. So, no impulsive drone purchase for me…

How about you? Have you ever wrestled over whether to purchase something, later to decide not to? Or have you given in and bought something, later to regret it? If so, what was that thing?

For me it is the air fryer. They seem to be "the thing" to have in your kitchen. Looks like it would be handy to cook with. But.....I have a NuWave oven that cooks like an air fryer and I don't want to get rid of it. And I worry that air fryer will cause my smoke alarm to go off or that it will get too hot for my small kitchen. I don't want to start a fire with it. So I am not getting one.

But.....I have a NuWave oven that cooks like an air fryer and I don't want to get rid of it. And I worry that air fryer will cause my smoke alarm to go off or that it will get too hot for my small kitchen. I don't want to start a fire with it. So I am not getting one.

kat, I know you don't want one now.. but in case you do in the future.. the Airfryer, doesn't give off any smoke or steam.. it's like a microwave in that sense...so it's impossible for it to set off the smoke alarm ..nor does it get hot on the outside, so it can't make your kitchen hot..

I almost purchased another bike, but didn't. I spent many years riding bikes but the last couple of years I haven't felt very enthusiastic about it so haven't ridden much. I almost fell into the old trap of throwing more money into it in hopes of reigniting my passion, glad I didnt.

I have two rather ratty recliners. I was thinking of replacing them-@ $700-800 each. Then I thought that only company sits on them, and I wasn't going to spend $1,600 so their butts are nice and comfy.

Re do the downstairs bathroom tub in to new walk in shower.

Living room carpet & stairway needs replaced.

Walk in shower and new vinyl wood plank floors in two of my rooms. Both are costly but wish I could afford them.
