I just threw my very old pair of Lands End water shoes in the trash. I had them many years and first they were for travel, then as they got worn I used them in the garden. Last year they were looking very grotesque! I gave them a good wash and fix up and have used them until finally the sole literally fell off.
I moved my emergency pull on sneakers from the car to the garden. They're shoes I don't love but they are good shoes and will work fine in the garden.
I had to move a pair to the car for emergency so I took the Wal-Mart impulse buy sneakers that are cute, but not me. They'll do fine in an emergency.
Do you have things you're bound and determined to use up or wear out?
