What I spent on groceries and sundries in 2025

Wife and I spent $6,000.30 at the grocery stores in 2025. In 2024 we spend $6,236.84. I am surprised we spent less in 2025 but we are eating much less processed foods the last 6 months of 2025. We are also eating less due to our diet. We buy practically no beef anymore, it is just too expensive.

I track all spending, this is the totals spent at grocery stores the last 7 years.
2025 $6,000.30
2024 $6,236.82
2023 $6,316.93
2022 $5,638.53
2021 $5,792.80
2020 $5.215.79
2019 $4,925.53

They must be darned good with keeping records/budgets! 😮😁
I agree..lol.... I'm amazed....

The best I could do is give a very rough guess ..of an average..but even then.. I wouldn't be able to discern from my bank statement looking back several months , what was groceries and what were non groceries on a supermarket bill every week...

I spent $3560.00 last year for groceries and all normal household supplies (probably referred to as "sundries" in the OP). That averages just over $296.00 a month.

I know because I tally every expense - household, utilities, insurance, etc. on a running list by category as I spend. Yesterday I did the yearly totals for 2025. Since I worked in accounting, keeping track of my expenses is just second nature to me.

I can roughly say how much on average I soend on Food..and sundries.. that includes anything non food..like clothing, or household items that I might pick up while grocery shopping.

I generally buy groceries in the high end supermarkets... and I would say that I spend around £250 per month....£3,000 per year approx.... which is roughly $4, 035 USD

$7800 for 2025 spent at grocery stores. There’s very little spent on red meat or processed foods. I don’t deprive us of anything. Food does tend to be more costly in Canada.

$6900 for 2024

$5875 for 2019

DH has all the other years. He maintains spreadsheets for everything.
