What iPhone model do you currently use? How long have you had it?

DIL gave us our first ever new IPhone 12 fourteen months ago and her and my son pay the monthly Verizon bill.....while I really appreciate the gesture I very rarely even carry my flip phone as it is so I didn't really need it.

Mama turns on and carries her flip phone every time she leaves the house and uses IPhone off and on a couple of hours per day to watch YouTube videos and I'd be willing to bet I haven't monkeyed around with it more than an hour total since we've had it......I use a desktop to access the internet and our primary phone is still our landline.

thank you @ IKE, I am gathering info once again :)

IPhone 7 for me. I got it several years ago for free when a friend wanted to get the latest/greatest phone.

It's great for what I need as I mainly use txt & call features as well as the camera for pics (which are really quite good resolution wise). I refuse to use it for accessing any internet site unless I have to because I just find any phone's screen much too small. I do use some of the other features occasionally: the Alarm feature, email, notes feature for shopping or any other list I need to make, the calculator plus I have a bunch of Apps that I use regularly.

I won't get rid of this one until they stop updating the operating system, which could be soon . I hope not because there's always that learning curve when you do get a new phone. My previous phone to this one was a Blackberry Z10. Useless except for email, txt & calls.

Thank You!

I have an iPhone 6. I'm happy enough with it, as it still does the same things now as it did when I bought it. The 88 App's that I've put on it still works fine. More significantly, I can make calls with it, which for me was the main point of it.

I thought it funny that when I bought it and the sales assistant demonstrated if features to me, at no point did she say I can use it to call people.

When I buy something I don't usually feel I need the latest version of something. I leave that to the 'masses', who invariably bring the price down.

that is a good point I think Magna-Carta...leave to the masses, who invariable bring the price down...

I've never seen the point of buying something I don't need, especially when I have something that does the job I want of it. I can easily afford the latest iPhone, but I then think whats the point?

I think back to when Apple released, at the time, their lasted iPhone; people queueing for hours outside of the store before it opened so they could collect their pre-ordered phones. Less than a month later Apple significantly lowered the price. From memory, based on Apple's reasoning, it seemed that even Apple thought it was overpriced, so quickly lowered it. Much to the outrage of people who had pre-ordered and paid the earlier higher price. I can remember thinking to myself, "Well bigger fool them."

My daughter who was then working for T-Mobil bought me an I-6s and put it on her account back in 2018. I have had the battery replaced once.

I was happier with my old land line.

Mine is a 12 Max. I bought it when they first came out.

I use it for a lot.
One of the main things is listening to podcasts, especially at night. I turn on soothing sounds.
Tracking my walking/exercise.
Reminders for grocery lists.
Weather reports.
News flashes.
Too many things to list.

The reason I’d upgrade is because the battery is getting weaker.

I have had mine since 2016. It is a first generation SE. for about five years now they have been saying it would vaporize or explode or something (be unsupported??). While that makes me nervous to lose information i still use this phone. Other phones are way to big.

I've got an iPhone 11 ... they came out in the Fall of 2019, so it will be 4 years old soon.
It serves me well, for my simple needs.
