Not much has changed, it has always been dangerous. The Dominican Republic should have an asterisk behind its name (*Visit at your own risk.) The Dominican shares the same land mass (Island) as Haiti that should make your skin crawl. As for any location south of the border beware. But, if I had the extra money I would leave tonight as it is nice, but you should stay only at 5 Star Luxury Hotels or Resorts. Tourists trying to save a few bucks should just visit Myrtle Beach.
