What Is The Most Decadent Meal or Dessert You've Ever Had??

A few years ago, my son and I were walking the boardwalk in Atlantic City. We came across a food kiosk where a woman was selling warm apples filled with ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce. It was soooo good. 😛 I was amazed that the ice cream didn't get too melty. My son and I shared it because he was on a mission to get some fried Oreos, which we had but they didn't impress me nearly as much as that decadent apple dessert. I tried on my next couple of visits to AC to find her kiosk but never did.

Last November, I had just had bloodwork done, for which of course I had fasted for more than 8 hours. The diner was a block away and I had previewed their menu the night before. This chocolate fudge brownie with ice cream, topped with whipped cream intrigued me. I decided to treat myself after my "ordeal" and have it for breakfast. I couldn't finish the brownie, so I took half of it home.

Looks so good.

Most decadent meal, invited by my inlaws to be to a mothers day lunch with the kids. Japanese restaurant the grandmother had worked for about 30 years before retiring. She came from Japan with her young GI husband.

Anyway, I had never had japanese food. The full teppanyaki experience. It was so good!! Since then I have learned to make it at home, no where near the restaurant but pretty tasty,

Key Lime Pie
It is hard to beat. Growing up we had a key lime tree. My mother made pie it was the best ever.
However, rarely have I had it outside of Florida.
Probably for the best, I have often ordered it elsewhere and it is rarely the same. Even had Key Lime Pie in London, and Baguio, Philippines. Its gotten popular.

I'm drooling !

Oh man! There was a bakery when I lived in California, it was in Toluca Lake, which is a suburb of Los Angeles. It was actually a bakers/coffee shop but they were most famous for their pastries.

Have you ever had a Napoleon? 🤩 I’ve tried them other places, but have NEVER had one as good as that little Mom and Pop, made from scratch bakery!

It's a toss-up between Auberge (French restaurant) and the Mika (Japanese, now closed).
How could I forget having High Tea at 2 different places .. one, a quaint tea shop here .. the other, in the Prince of Wales hotel, out of town.

Before I left Australia (Perth, W.A.) I frequented a Turkish restaurant there. There were round tables, low to the ground, and cushions on which to sit. There were no individual plates, nor knives and forks. Food was brought out on large platters and you ate from them, with your fingers.

It was decadent and delicious. There’s NO WAY it would ever pass the stringent health regulations of today, but that was then!! My most Favorite of their meals was roast rabbit, seasoned with who knows what but it was unbelievable, and cooked in a way that the meat all but fell of the bone! It was served with some kind of creamy, heavenly flavored rice dish. You tore off a chunk of rabbit, and used that chunk to scoop up some rice to accompany it,and popped the whole thing into your mouth!

It was the best tasting food I’ve ever had!! 🤩

I've had a bunch of good meals...both at home, and at restaurants. One that sticks out was years ago when I was in Maine over a weekend. Apparently there was a surplus on lobsters that year, and I stopped at a place offering "all you could eat". I literally gorged on lobster tails.

I was in Geneva and got taken out to some kind of farm house dinner. It was at a nice farmer's home with great views. We were served multiple homemade courses, small and timed slowly.

We had to move for each course, each was served in a different room or building. There were only a few groups of people eating, we all started at the same time, it took all afternoon/evening.

When offered wine the host would point at the various vineyards that could be seen from the house and ask which one we wanted something from.

It was a meal to be remembered.

I'd love to do that!
