What is time?

linear time as man-made on earth for survival, IMO, does not exist in reality.
This is all in the relative which is ever-changing states of the phenomenal.
Time on earth is distorted.

I believe time can be slowed or speeded by thought, just as a heartbeat can be
stopped by thought. It's a temporal, changeable. It's not a measurement of
rotations but more a force, only existent in the relative.

If "time" exists in the Absolute, I don't yet know how to perceive it.
There is a process of movement, of change, but it is so blissful,
I don't think time is a way of being in the Absolute.

Oh, I'm sorry! I thought this was serious. I just saw this was in the "humor"
category. Oh well!

From Wikipedia:

Time is the continued sequence of existence and events that occurs in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, into the future. It is a component quantity of various measurements used to sequence events, to compare the duration of events or the intervals between them, and to quantify rates of change of quantities in material reality or in the conscious experience. Time is often referred to as a fourth dimension, along with three spatial dimensions.

Yes, I've never read that before but it's STILL in the relative!
It's STILL man-made!
I STILL say it does not truly exist.
But, That's just MY opinion, and no one gives a hoot!

I do, and mostly agree: time as most think of it is a manmade construct and more fluid than fixed.
Consider that even viewing them thru the newest telescope we are not seeing the planets, stars, galaxies & nebulae as they are now, but as they were long, long ago.

Add to that the experiences i've had of slipping into 'subjective' time, particularly meditation related, and TIME is not 'real', but construct we use to organize this life.

All my life i've been a punctual person as show of respect for others as well practical reasons dictated by incarnate life, the older i get the less patience i have with others who intrude, waste (steal) my 'time'. Some of them no doubt would think some of the things that i most enjoy are 'wasting' time, but for me my productive activities and moments of passive observation help me balance being grounded in this reality, this body, while also keenly aware of disincarnate life, consciousness.

There is a connection in my mind between this question and the thread about answering folks who ask 'What do you do all day?'. Also to Gaer's recent question about what we most enjoy, makes us happy. Because each incarnate life will end perhaps as we get older we are protective of how we 'spend' our remaining time?
As @Harry Le Hermit suggested in another thread we all need to remember that we each get to choose how we use our 'time'.

Apologies to @Furryanimal for continuing the more serious side of this discussion, but that's the risk of any topic, much more so when it is something that has an impact on our lives.

:) Time is supposed to be the measure of the distance we travel in the expansion of the universe caused by the Big Bang.
