What is wrong with this picture?

Firstly I'll guess that more people Stateside will quickly see what I see being wrong. You might even have an awkward laugh too.
This is clipped from a West Australian news item, which I'll link in later via my laptop.

In WA we have very strict firearms laws and the photo attached to this news item shows terrible mishandling of a firearm.

Well good morning from Downunder, I posted this thread while insomniac. So I'll follow through soon.

Regarding my avatar it's a matter for a post in tomorrow's This day in history thread with May 2nd being the relevant anniversary.

A man shoots a rifle

The WA government says its new firearms laws are the toughest in the country, "making explicit that the possession and use of a firearm is a privilege but not a right", according to the police minister.

It may be an air rifle or a .22" but still it's wrong, wrong WRONG.
