What is your normal time of getting up?

I'm an early riser too, usually between 4 and 6.....I've always been a morning person, but then I fizzle out around 5 or 6 in the afternoon, so I go to bed with the chickens.

Us older gentlemen, with prostates as big as Texas, don't get too much sleep anymore. Usually fall asleep in my chair at night till about 11pm. Up at 3am and sometimes get back to sleep...or not. Up by 6am latest, no such thing as 7or8 hours sleep anymore.

The mornings is when i would love to stay in and just snooze to my hearts content, but my damn back won't let me, i'm sure there are plenty of members here with the same problem

I was born nocturnal, the only time I ever saw a sunrise was if I hadn't gotten to bed yet.

I still operate on shiftwork hours which change over every few weeks. Mostly turn in around 1.30 2am but gradually that stretches to 3.30 even to 5am sometimes. Then I go back to 'normal' for a while. I get up when I wake up. Sometimes that's 10am and sometimes, like today it's 3 hours after I went to bed. aaaagh. There will be nod-offs at the keyboard this afternoon, guaranteed.

Have no problems sleeping at all, just do it at strange times. I can nap sitting up in 5 to 10 minute grabs and that's plenty to get me through the day. I don't take comfy granny naps as I'd sleep too long and stay up all night and the dog would get all confused and it's just too damned complicated explaining why you're asleep at 1pm when you aren't working any more and.... siiiiigh.

Many older people seem to become night owls after they retire, I always was, but strange that so many change. Have any of you changed that way or do I just know some weird people?

Since I still work part-time, Di, I try to stay on a schedule. If I know I'm not working, I'll stay up an hr or so later, but it's a rare evening (vacation or spending the wk-end w/someone) that I'm not in bed by 11. I'm anything but a night owl. Nothing constructive gets done after 6, and that's been the case my whole life. Mornings are my thing!

Wanted to clarify something in my post to TWH where she says she has an intercom by her bed to let her hear what's going on at the barn. Those horses are lucky to have her as their owner, cuz not for all the tea in China would I do that. Nor would I do it for anything else I hadn't given birth to, and even then it was very hard! But those horses are her babies -- I admire her caring so much. Not everyone has the problem of getting back to sleep that I do....such a PIA!!!

Definitely a morning person. When I was teaching I would get up between 3-4 am. I could get so much done. No one calls you or stops by at that hour, and no little voices calling Mom. Now that I am retired I sleep in to about 5 am. I love the mornings and everyday is a new beginning. I love to watch the sun rise.

I go to bed 10 to 11 unless I'm out Rock and Roll, dancing that night.
Usually up at 7-7:30 a.m.
imprefer to be out a night club until 1 a.m. and get up about 10 the next day
As I'm really a night person by nature. I spent many years do night club scenes

I used to get up at 4 or 5'oclock am, depending on my shift at the time. Now that I'm retired, I'm in bed between 11-12 midnight, and up between 8-9 am.
That is the schedule I'd like...bed at 11 to 12 and up 8 to 9 am. For some reason, the last year, I wake up at 2 to 4 am and cannot go back to sleep. The lack of sleep has made me, well...bitchy, I must say! I think it's the medications, illnesses I'm fighting.
