What kind of American/Brit/French/ect., are you? And does it matter?

The kind that was born in the US, has lived here all his life, and doesn't put any particular premium on where my own, or anyone else's great grandparents were born. I was fortunate to have been born into a good family, but ultimately everyone writes his or her own life story.
 

I grew up in a southern household on Long Island. My parents had grown up in the Carolinas, one north and one south.

My MIL was French Canadian and my FIL who I never met was from the Greek island of Chios. My wife says that makes her a Freek.
