What Motivates Us? What Motivated You to become who you are?

With me it was the early years of looking at people on the INSIDE and I was on the OUTSIDE wanting in. but didn't know how to get there. Some readers will know what I mean and others, will not. Some of my peers choose crime and never quite made getting inside. Some of us choose education, work and perseverance. Did It WORK? Well, we are not in jail and we're still on this side of the grass.

I realized early on that if I didn't want to live under a bridge I needed to work and organize my personal finances to carry me over the rough spots in life.

I guess fear was what motivated me.

I understand what you mean about inside vs outside. I worked hard to get an insiders income but always seemed to live an outsiders life. I never could get the hang of swinging a golf club while holding a martini, LOL!!!

One thing that helped me was to adopt and imitate the successful behaviors of people who became my business and financial role models. I still think about some of those people and how much I learned from them.

I think mostly I wanted my grandparents to be proud of me. I didn't want to disappoint them.

I don't know what motivated me. I've always just tried to do my best at the time. I've been lucky, and it's worked out OK so far.
