What new holiday would you come up with for August?

We could have national PC day! On August 12, 1981, IBM introduced the personal computer... and the rest is history!

In those days, I didn't want anything to do with computers. I worked as a mechanic and enjoyed doing physical work. Computers were repulsive to me.

Then I went on to study computer science at university in the '90s and became a software engineer. That shows how people change as they get older. The advent of the Internet and the Web probably had something to do with it, too, plus the money that could be made from technology.

we do , we have the August bank holiday which is the last public holiday of the year before Chrismas, so it's a massive deal.. and a huge portion of the population take their biggest holiday at that time...

Here in Ontario the first Monday in August is the Civic Holiday, which results in a 3 day weekend. We also have Family Day on the third Monday in February. So we have at least one long weekend in each of those months. JIM.
