What things or activities will it take you longer to get back to or will you give up completely?

As I stated, in another thread it's going to take me a while before I go back to seeing live shows in a club. I'm also not in a hurry to go back to indoor dining but will be going back to outdoor dining.

I'm also in no hurry to start taking public transit even though they opened a BART station near us last year that makes it much easier for us to get many places in the SF bay area. I was waiting for that station for years, but I can wait a while longer now.

I hope to avoid going back into the office until we can do so without wearing masks. That might not be completely up to me though.

Right now I can't think of anything that I'll give up completely - it will depend on how all of this spins out.

I'll delay indoor dining and flying (for a while anyway).

It'll take a while to extend beyond family, but by summertime I expect to return to hosting parties and BBQs for family and friends who've been vaccinated. No vaccine, no invite.

I've got concert tickets for an event three months from now in San Diego for a concert that was delayed a year.
Not sure if it will happen or be rescheduled. We'll have to see how it goes. We booked a fully refundable hotel room.

We used to go to a local little theatre to see plays but it was small and people were jammed in. I wouldn't feel comfortable going there anymore even with the vaccine. Probably won't go back to indoor dining for awhile, just outdoor. Probably will not go to the movie theatre (hardly ever went anyway). I am actually looking forward to keeping Covid as an excuse NOT to fly since I hate it.

I hope not to have to go back to the office for a long time, some of my coworkers are speculating end of the year but that sounds too good to be true. But, I guess only part of that desire is related to covid.
I'm going to lose my safari (tourist type safari, not hunting) deposit if I don't use it by end of August this year. I am really hoping vaccinations will hurry up, but my coworkers have been telling me they think it would be too much risk even if I can get vaccinated (I would not go if not vaccinated, I don't turn 65 until next month, but I don't know how long the wait is to get a shot).
It is hard to decide about the safari, I was so looking forward to my big adventure, but the way the news has been, 18 hours of plane time plus airport time is a LOT of potential exposure. Maybe after I get vaccinated I'll start small by going to the movies.
Currently I have a hard time even wanting to get out of the house at all.

We have always maintained our shopping but started only going once a week to the store. I think we will continue this as it saves money. Everywhere else, like the mall, we rarely went to anyway so no hurry to go back.

In April, we will go to a casino, again, something we only did a couple times a year and haven’t done in a year. We used to go to the movie every weekend cause we bought the regal movie pass. While other movies are open on our area, the regal is still closed so we don’t need to make that decision yet.

Eating in dining, we haven’t done it for a year. I think we will “eat in” when we go to the casino if dinning is open as we will have had our second shots which we get Friday. But not eating out has again saved us money so we won’t be doing too much of that. The money we would use for dine in now goes to pay for PPE.

Picnics with the extended family will resume-masks and social distance for their protection since we will be vaccinated. My trip to Texas to see my daughter is off since my son had a fit about it. Plus with Texas unmasking even though they have all the new varieties of the virus, it just might be too risky. And travel through New Mexico would be too risky as well. đŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™€ïž Frustrating.

But for the most part, after the second vaccine, our lives will return to our normal. He is on permanent work from home as it saves us money and no need for him to go back to the office. And it saves us money.

A lot of the things we haven't been doing, saves us money which has been nice, like shopping less, no movies or plays, no eating out. We only got take out food once at a restaurant since this started and I think our stomachs have adjusted to not eating out, since my husband and I didn't feel very well afterwards. Not in a hurry to do that again.

We have started to get more take out food, like subway sandwiches, nothing expensive, and we use coupons when we have them. I don’t want to fall back into old habits, so in a way, the virus corrected a lot of unwise spending on our part. Other than limited traveling, movies, and dine in, our lives are pretty much back to normal.

Except I walk a lot more than I used to which is good for me. 😃

The only thing we've missed are the out-of-state trips to museums and parks. Hopefully the covid panic will die down soon so rest stops reopen and quarantine requirements disappear.
