What to Know About Moving to Canada

Not everyone in Canada knows how to speak French. Though it is taught in school, and is our second language, it is spoken mainly in Quebec.

There are differences between the Provinces, just as there are between your States.

Exactly. ... And Spanish is our second language in the states, and taught in school also, but many don't speak it.

An excellent article.

Those wishing to move to Canada for job prospects certainly have the capacity to do better than their counterparts knowing a second language, with French being the favoured, however, those wishing to simply make the move to Canada to live, need not worry about learning or speaking French, unless of course they plan on residing in the Province of Quebec.

Dear husband and I have met numerous folks from all around the world that made the decision to call Canada their home, and to date not a single one we spoke to regretted their move. Currently know a couple originally from California that moved here just over 15 years ago.
