What type of store do you buy groceries at? Local chain, national chain, healthy, big box,

We mostly shop at a local chain store for everyday items and food. At the big box store for our paper items (lol), and a large national store which has smaller neighborhood stores for things we run out of. We also fill prescriptions there.

There is a Whole Foods store downtown which we rarely shop at, it is way too expensive.

We shop at a big chain Texas grocery store, plus a large Asian grocery store, a Mediterranean one, a Natural Grocers store, a local co-op, and Whole Foods (started in Austin).

Mostly Safeway, sometimes Sprouts or Trader Joes or Walmart.

Mostly at local supermarkets like Safeway and Kroger, a few things I'll pick up at Walmart or Costco. I shop at Natural Grocers or Sprouts for supplements and a few food items, they're not as pricey as Whole Foods, which I never shop in.

I shop two major chains, two no-frills stores, Walmart, TJ's, $store, and a corner mom and pop.

Once or twice a year I hit the Asian market, the Polish market, and the Mediterranean market.

I also buy some produce at the flea market or the local state-run farmers market.

I try to shop the specials and hit the various stores when I'm out running errands.

I like a few items that are unique to each store so it will be a big adjustment for me if I ever have to do all of my shopping in one store or have my groceries delivered.

It also helps create the illusion that I have something to do. :):playful::eek:nthego:

I shop at a local grocery store,Tops, another is called'Price Right'
I'm a member at our local co-op store but I find some of their prices 'highway robbery'.I usually buy fruit, lettuce
When I'm with my close friend,Marcia we like going to BJ's{similar to Sam's Club,much better}
I love going to $ stores too

Trader Joe’s and Von’s (Safeway)...Sprouts sometimes but it’s further.

I go to Walmart about once a year and go to Costco when I’m at my daughter’s and then stock up on TP and Paper towel, etc.

I do go to the store almost every day...

Safeway, for the most part. We only have two grocery stores in town and the other is way too expensive. It is locally owned and at one time I did all my shopping there, but then they sold and their prices skyrocketed. But they do have better meats than Safeway and carry several items that we like that Safeway doesn`t carry,so we do shop there every other week or so. Oh,and they have MUCH better fresh seafood than Safeway (and also much cheaper) so I always buy our fish there. The one thing about Safeway is that we earn points that we use to save 20 cents per gallon on gas and in California, that`s a big deal lol.

I like grocery shopping at Whole Foods. Love the produce, love the bread, love the bulk items, love the choices of kefir, choices of organic foods. Hubby loves shopping at Family Fare. Loves the prices. When we are both retired, though, we will probably shop at the stores when they give senior discounts. :) I wish Whole Foods did that. I know people complain about the prices at Whole Foods, but when I'm retired and have the time to really grocery shop and cook, you can buy the basics and make your meals from scratch. A lot cheaper than going out to eat.

I have 2 choices....Walmart and Pic & Sav.

I shop both. Very rarely buy meat from Walmart.

In the summer I have to pack a cooler in order to buy my meat from Pic & Sav and then shop Walmart and drive back home.

It's a pain...............I try my best to shop once a month.

I do have to run to Dollar General (only store in my town) for milk, sometimes bread if I don't have it in the freezer.

I've tried freezing milk but don't care for it.

Usually HEB, a Texas chain. They deliver for a reasonable fee so I order online and they bring it to my house. Occasionally stop at Kroger or Walmart, but not often.

Generally Jewel, owned by Safeway. It's less expensive at Walmart, but Safeway has better pay and benefits for employees, and we want to support that. They also employ many intellectually compromised people as baggers. Good cause, good for local economy.

Usually at a chain store..Waitrose, M&S, Sainsbury , Tesco, Morrisons ..Aldi..any of those ..WE had Safeway here when I was a kid but they were bought out by Morrisons many years ago .

Morrisons is my closest supermarket but not always the one I use, I like to ring the changes ..yesterday I shopped at Tesco because it was the nearest store to my Physio office... but I like that supermarket the least

I often shop at the local Farm shop as well for organic meat... and artisan bread and cake..

We don't have a wide range of supermarkets here so I would have to travel if I wanted to use, say, Sainsburys, Morrisons or ALDI. The nearest Waitrose is 175 miles away! We still have plenty of independent butchers and bakers.

As some will know from my posts, we grow quite a few vegetables and help raise pigs and sheep. Also since we live near some large fishing ports, fresh seafood is easily found. For other things, we use ASDA (part of Walmart), Tesco and Lidl.
