What Was The Worst And Best Decades For Movies?

Since I was born in 1946 and grew up with REAL movie stars....the best movies were made in the 40's and 50's and the worse were made in the 70's and 80's.
 

I'm with Colleen. I love the old movies with women stars. "Mildred Pierce," "Now Voyager," "Stella Dallas," "Laura" etc. I also love the stylish film noirs like, "Double Indemnity." Some people like to escape through the movies to their own past, for some reason, I like to escape to my parent's past. :)
 
Funny how everyone has different perspectives. I think best decade was the 70's and as @Jennina said, the last decade by far the worst. This current decade isn't really doing well either.
 
When I look up a newer movie to decide to watch or not I can't decide because I know nothing about the names of the actors.
 
What constitutes the best or the worst movies depends to a major extent on personal perspectIves, and what you as a viewer are looking for. My late mother was in hog heaven over movies of the 40’s and 50’s where good writing and acting carried the film, and had to. Kids today would largely find such movies boring and laughable. Many films today are special effects heavy, with foul language and graphic violence heavily depicted, but plotting minimal and characterization weak...
