What was your favorite cereal as a kid?

Lucky Charms or Captain Crunch. I'll still get a box of Lucky Charms once a year or so when I need some extra magic.

I grew up in the 1950's. I loved Sugar Corn Pops which was put out by Kellogg's. They had to be good because Wild Bill Hickock ate them. It was a very popular TV western in the 50's. Also Rice Krispies. Back then they reallly did Snap,Krackle and Pop.

When some of us grew up, there were probably a half dozen or so types of cold cereals. Now they dedicate an entire aisle in the supermarket. We didn't get sweetened cereals as often, think they were more expensive.

We didn't get it often either & of course between the three of us we all had different favorites. We had to take turns as to who got to pick the cereal when we went to the store. So there would be weird grumblings going on in the back seat on the way home......

stupid Sugar Smacks
no you're stupid
no you are

If I had been allowed to do the breakfast cereal purchasing, it would have been Fruit Loops. However, what actually got served was oatmeal with all bran sprinkled on top.

Yes I did that to my kids most of the time too much to their disappointment, but your mamma did good by you ;)

Grape Nut Flakes. Had no choice. That's what my father liked. No special kid cereal allowed in our house. But I liked them also. :) Still do. Would prefer Total now, but don't do cereal. I'd eat too much of it.

Rice Krispies or Corn Flakes. Back then I was picky and ate my cereal dry with a glass of milk on the side. My mom had the patience of a saint with me.
