What was your first 'device' with "new technology"?

A cordless phone. I walked around the house, chatting with a friend & kept checking for a cord to untangle.
Those spiral phone cords were a pain. I used to pick them up by the phone end and let and let the receiver spin out. But it didn't take long for them to get all twisted and tangled again.

a transistor radio. In the early 60's I attended a co-ed boarding school in Deerfield,Mass.,500 miles away from home. On some nights,I could tune into a favorite Buffalo radio station, made me feel less homesick
