What were you grateful for in 2025

One way to increase our level of happiness is to show gratitude for the good things in life. There have even been books written about showing gratitude (and I'm sure the author is grateful for your investment if you bought the book).

So what are some good things that happened in 2025?

I'll start. In August, we got a new dog from the animal shelter. He had obviously been abused. He was skinny, scared, and had a broken front tooth. (He's staring at me as I type this.)

We took him home, gave him plenty of love, had his broken tooth removed, fattened him up a bit, and now he's a great companion!

That's a heartwarming account, and you have the joy of a new pet you obviously care very much for. I wish I could share a similar story, but I don't have one. I'm just very thankful that this year has gone by without serious health or financial problems.

Hopefully, we are making some good memories as we go along. Sometimes we don't fully appreciate them until we look back.

So many things!
~My loving family, friends and wonderful doctors
~My kidney function has improved. Also both my heart condition (A-fib) and diabetes are well under control
~Despite peculiar eye issues, including partial blindness, I have not gone completely blind yet

~I don't experience chronic pains like so many I know who are my age and younger, even though I was diagnosed with arthritis over 20 years ago.
~I (officially) met my Honorary Son #3, who's a neighbor. He's quite attentive and expresses his gratitude daily. He's been a life changing force for me in that he's revived my creative energy. I'm involved in his digital music production, contributing to content for his radio show and have been a guest on the show several times. He's also featured my music. I love that he and my son also collaborate on music projects.

Sometimes when I'm in the shower, it hits me.... how grateful I should be because I can take a shower when I want to. So many in the world don't have adequate facilities to bathe or even clean water. Same with being grateful for having plenty of food to eat, a roof over my head and financial stability.

Well, I'm grateful for my husband. Now I'll be sarcastic. I was grateful for only having to pay over $588. of medical benefits +paying for prescriptions per month. Now the superior of our disgraced country is going to triple the cost at the least. So damned proud. NOT.
I hope they solve that issue Paulina so you don't get stuck with those high premiums. It is definitely disgraceful, disheartening and angering that this is even being allowed to happen!

Thanks, and I know. I just can't believe it. I believe I'll be absolutely disgusted (and broke) for the next 3 years. Makes me nauseous and not just for me but all of those for who are going through the same situation. God Bless America, right?

So far it looks like I won't be affected, but some people will not be able to afford insuance starting in 2026, so have decided to go without insurance.:mad: What we're coming to.....God help us all !!

While I received a hospital visit wake up call in January, I lost over 40 pounds since then, started making my own protein cakes in May, brought both blood pressure and cholesterol back to completely boring normal, and am back to the gym.

While I basically have no long term savings, social security is covering my monthly bills.

My mental calm and physical health is in good shape, and I'm working methodically towards peak fitness.

That sounds like a lot of fun! (y)
