What would we do without SF?

If I didn't have SF and you guys, what would I do? Ever thought about it? Matrix and Sea Breeze provide a clean page for use to write on and it is very important in our lives. I would be so alone without you guys. Many of us depend on this forum for our daily communication with others. Without it, I would feel isolated and so lonely. I am so thankful for this place where I can share with my peer group. Thanks so much...

I’m sure many of us do depend on the forum Jim and it’s good to see new members joining every day

I am lucky enough to get out and about, have a daughter and some friends but Senior Forums is still a part of my day, it’s great to visit each morning, say ‘hi’, read what has been posted overnight, and check my messages

I agree with Wren... and everyone!!


Matrix and SB don't get enough appreciation for the hardwork involved in keeping a large forum like this running smoothly and a medium for all of us to have online interaction with people from all parts of the globe ..... a wonderful way for those who can no longer get out and socialise, and those who are housebound and alone who would other wise have no-one at all...

Not only general chit chat but support and advice too...

then there are people like Wren and I and others who are fortunately able to still get out and do things, but still enjoy the interaction with everyone , and make actual real friends too ... and let's not forget keeping brain cells sharpened with word games too...


Having been a member of this forum for many years I've seen many come and many go , and it's always lovely to have new members arriving each day

So Kudos, and Huge thanks to Matrix and Seabreeze for all their time they give to make this forum available to us all...
 
The individuals who run this forum do a great job. I really appreciate their hard work. I like getting on here to chat about whatever is on my mind. Without SF, I'd have to find another online site, to chat with others, and that's not high on my list of things to do.
 
I run webmaster my dance studio's website, and run another private forum, and an FB group, and am also Admin on another RB group, so I know very well what it takes to keep things running smoothly. It's a pain in the you-know-what sometimes!! So mega kudos to Sea Breeze and Matrix for how seamlessly SF runs. You guys are great!

Jim, I'm still working, have a large family close by, Ron has another large family that has become mine, plus I have hobbies and interests that keep me active and around other people all the time. I am seldom alone for any stretch of time wahtever. And STILL I'm on SF first thing in the morning as I sip my one cup of coffee for the day, I check it throughout the day on my phone, and give a last look at night before I go to bed! It's on my daily lineup of online places I visit, and I probably spend more time here than I do any other site other than facebook where I keep up with all my own family and friends.

I'm really glad you have this place, Jim. Glad you have the support, and friendships, and a place where you can just come be you and hang out.

Good thoughts though, Jim. Especially for those who are somewhat alone.
 
I've got my daughter and many relatives with whom to socialize with, but still need my SF fix each and every day. It's an interesting forum, filled with a whole lot of very nice people with whom I enjoy interacting with. The word games keep the gray cells working.

SeaBreeze and Matrix, you both do an awesome job in keeping the forum running smoothly. Thanks for all you both do.
 
After 6 years, and many life changes for me, SF has been a wonderful constant in my life.
So nice that new people keep joining.
I miss some oldies that were here when I joined in 2013.

Jim, I'm so happy to see you're still posting here after the loss of your sweet wife, she's resting peacefully and still surrounding you with her love. I think I would also really need the forum and nice folks here if I found myself alone or in poor health, so I hope it doesn't go away. Right now I'm still getting out and about, but like to be a member here with all the caring people and hear what others have to say, and I learn so much. Thanks to everyone for the kind words. :peach:

I never did anything like this before I stumbled onto Senior Forums. I enjoyed it from the start and never tire of it. I'm on Facebook to keep up with the kids and grand kids. The few people I know that are my age don't have a computer or don't care to communicate online. Many of my close friends have passed on.

This fills the void of being able to communicate with people around my age. People who actually understand what a clothes line is or a carpet sweeper, listening to a radio and rabbit ears on a TV set and oh yes, a coal bin as examples.

I suppose if I didn't have this place to go to every once in awhile during the day I would read more, spend a bit more time on my projects and of course learning how to use that impulse buy sewing machine. I know I wouldn't be bored but after all this time I certainly would miss all of you and your interesting posts that only seniors can relate to. My thanks to Seabreeze and Matrix for making it all possible.
 
Agree with most of the posts above. SF (which my brain also originally translated to San Francisco) is a great place to connect, learn, chat and visit with people who are often experiencing the same joys, disappointments, questions and challenges as I am. Many thanks to SB and Matrix for creating and maintaining this site.
 
If there were no SF, I would find another forum. One that allowed discussion of Politics. And I would subsequently be banned from it in short order. Just as I have been banned from every other forum I have joined that allowed the discussion of politics.
 
Let me chime in. I too love visiting here each day and interacting with everyone. I see things here that really do make me laugh out loud.

I often prefer to come here than to go to Facebook for reasons well beyond the scope of this post. So, I too am thankful for SF and those responsible for it existing and being maintained. Don...
