I posted the following on Reddit (on the Polyamorous thread) a while ago and it's actually being downvoted. What? What did I say? I don't get it.

I'm so Freaking Happy Today ♥

It's a wonderful day and I have freaking amazing partners who make me happy and keep me safe with their solid love. All I want is to make them happy back, keep them aware of and basking in their awesomeness.

It's a great day and I'm happy only to revel in it for the sheer simple pleasure of it. ♥

I know I shouldn't let it bother me, but... sheesh. :/
 

I have heard of Reddit but know nothing about it, or rules and regs for it. The Polyamorous thread sounds like posters may have more than one partner at a time. If all who participate understand what the content will be, I can't see you crossed any lines.

Then again, I am not much help. Hope you find a way to stay happy. @Medusa.

You are helpful, @Right Now Thank you. ♥ (Your understanding of the Poly thread is correct; more than one partner, providing everyone involved is aware and approves the parameters.)

They're jealous of your happiness. Some people really enjoy sticking a pin in your balloon. They suck.

I don't frequent Reddit much, as far as I can tell the majority there are in a much younger age bracket. The "upvoting/downvoting" thing is like a popularity contest, which is a turn-off for me.

You're right about the average age and Reddit being a bit of an echo chamber, I'm afraid. There are threads for older peeps, R/oversixty, for example, but not many and they are not busy. Still, I'm glad they exist. Thank you for the tip on the site; I'll look into it. :)

Yes there are such forums, but I'm not really in need of them as I only rarely post about this subject. Today is an exception as I am exceptionally happy today, which is just g*damned marvelous for many reasons. :) ♥

Actually, I was just talking with my son (who is 21) about this and he was saying it's probably a softer version of "sour grapes" sort of thing, as in, "Lady, this is Reddit, on Valentine's day; we don't want to hear about how much you love your partners." LOL
He's probably right, but again, sheesh, um... the poly board! LOL :ROFLMAO:

My opinion is...people should mind their own business.
If that board was for a specific topic, why read it...same thing
happens on this board unfortunately.

Unless it's an exclusive community (I don't know much about Reddit) and I assume it's not, then I'd think there are trolls like anywhere else downvoting just because they can... maybe??
 
Reddit can really suck. 😡

Envy would be my first guess. My only guess actually. Folks who crap on other folks’ happiness are at the very least insecure, and more likely are just pissed off that they don’t have that too.

Enjoy yourself and your partners and move on. Don’t let a bunch of people who you don’t know and likely never will, kill your happy! ❤️
