What's In The Freezer Compartment of Your Fridge?

Right now I only have half a dozen chicken breasts, a half loaf of bread and ice cubes.

Read somewhere that your fridge is very inefficient if the freezer compartment is empty. And you should stuff wadded up newspapers
in it to fill up the empty space, LOL.

I really need to go to the grocery store.:p

Ice, air, emptiness. Oh...wait...I had four musician friends over after a gig; probably no more ice.

Don't have one (freezer compartment that is).

Got two freezers though, which are pretty well stocked with bread, cakes, ice cream, bacon, made up meals, chicken, duck, lamb, pork, venison, cheese, pies, rice, vegetables and a few other goodies.

If the crick rises I'm OK for a week or two!

Mostly loaves of bread I get from the Senior Center for free. The local supermarket sends over day-old (or older) baked goods they haven't sold. When I deliver meals, I pick the food up at the Senior Center and I have first choice of what's there. They limit sweet baked good to 2 items, but you can take as much bread as you want. I usually get artisan bread and leav ethe plian white bread alone. I also have some frozen lamb cubes, a partial package of Brussels sprouts and a package of peppermint candy I got in a game just before Christmas (and waiting until I can give it away next Christmas).

When my cousin moved my aunt from her home, he found a newspaper and plastic-wrapped package in her freezer. Inside it was her favorite cat which had died several months before.

I don't have a frozen cat in my freezer, I'm glad to say. In fact, there's nothing but a bag of ice in there right now.

Home made entrees, veggies, ice, bread, butter, chicken, steaks, ground beef, frozen yoghurt, pizza, french fries, homemade chicken stock, homemade marinara sauce. No cats.

There is no way I can tell you what's in my freezer except whats in the front as soon as the door is opened. This freezer is packed with God knows what, If I ever need something its probably in the back.
Now where is that popsicle? ahhhhh its on the door...thank God.

Davey, I know how you feel, I was thinking the same, but, for the first time, I do have some idea since I just took a peak to grab a look for something. Mostly frozen veggies like broccoli, green beans, spinach, cauliflower, salmon, shrimp, steak, flounder, chicken breast filets. pork sirloins, and some stuff with tomato sauce in a various containers headed for the garbage because, I'll never get around to eating any of it along with a few other no name items..

I'm just like you Laurie. No freezer compartment in the fridge, but I have 4 freezers - 2 chest freezers in the 'utility room', a small upright freezer in the kitchen, and a small spare upright (currently empty).

The big freezers have mostly meat - rare breed pork from our own Saddleback pigs, venison (Roe deer which are a pest here), salmon, various seafood, chickens, goose, bread etc..

(BTW Laurie, I was down your way last week to buy a new camper van. It's only got a small freezer in the fridge, but invaluable when touring)

Vegetables, veggie burgers, whole wheat hamburger buns, whole wheat tortillas, whole wheat waffles, prime rib eye cap steaks, lean ground beef, bake in the oven French loaves, 'homemade' red pasta sauce, prosciutto, nitrate-free bacon, croissant rolls, prepared eggplant parmesans .

Our freezer in the refrigerator is packed to the gills now. The big chest freezer in the basement just died on us, won't get cold, but compressor is hot. We unplugged it and cleaned it when we went away camping, then a couple of days ago I plugged it in again....no go. It's around 25 yrs. old, so we're not going to spend money on parts trying to fix it, likely just replace it. It'll be a hassle, narrow staircase, will have to remove the door, etc. But at least we won't have to worry about it for another 25 years. :praying:

Mostly Quorn products (vegetarian) used in curry & chili, 'chicken' patties, 'chicken' and leek pies. Bag of frozen peas. Homemade pasta sauce. Usually have some leftover curry but none now.

Cookie, my parents used to hide money in the freezer too!

My little freezing compartment is full right now, need to start eating out of inventory so I have room for a turkey.

Ice, meat, chicken, soup stock, marinara sauce, frozen vegetables and a couple containers of precooked ground beef crumbles.
