What's your preference for skillet size?

Lodge skillets are half off today at King Soopers. The have a 12" and a 10-1/4". My preference would be an 11", so I'm not sure which one to get.

Which side do you prefer?

I would go with the 10 1/4 if cooking for two. My fave cast iron skillet is a 10 1/4 and I often wished it were bigger back when I was cooking for my large family. But now that it`s just the two of us,it`s perfect. I did take it to California last week to make roasted brussels for Thanksgiving for a crowd of 25 so it still comes in handy for larger groups too.

I also wouldn`t want larger as it would be harder for me to lift.

I personally would go with the 10-1/4" since we cook for two people.

Perhaps the following link may help you decide...

Thanks for your input! :)

I went with the Lodge 10-1/4". Hopefully, that will be big enough to braise a brisket. It should be just right for a pizza for two. :)

I cook for one and use a 6” and a 9”.

The 9” is my workhorse and is perfect for pineapple upside down cake, cornbread, etc...

I got rid of my larger cast iron skillets. When they were full they were too heavy and dangerous for me to handle safely.

I would choose a Lodge 3 quart 10 1/4” diameter pan with high sides and a lid, what some folks call a chicken fryer.

I have and use many sizes depending on what I'm cooking. I did make the mistake of getting a large square one when we first got married.

I thought chops and other pieces of meat would fit better. I think it does but so many times I use the lid from my large Dutch oven to cover the food in my skillet and it won't fit the square pan.
I still use the square one on occasion but prefer my large round one just incase I need to cover it.
