I started taking down all the deck-the-halls stuff on New Year's Day. I finished up yesterday.
I like to keep the tree standing until the 6th, but if I have a low-pain afternoon accompanied by a burst of energy before then, I take advantage.

Tomorrow - January 6th. Just a wreath and small hanging bell tree ornament.
My neighbor across the street has his tree out for garbage pick-up. They didn't take it. It looks so forlorn.

That sounds reasonable. Ours is still up but tomorrow I want it gone. I’m going to put it near the bird feeder so birds can hang out in it until it dries up. It still looks beautiful.
Santy O' is now more in favor of keeping tiny trees where they grow......into firewood

You have a fake tree. Can’t you compromise and get a little ‘live’ tree and then plant it outside in the spring? Thats what I used to do for my parents instead of putting up a full tree.
We buy trees that are grown specifically for Christmas
. They are already cut so I don’t feel so guilty.

One Christmas up there, we dubbed this scrawny little seedling as 'The Littlest Christmas Tree'
