Myself and my friend from across the road were coming out of Aldi earlier, there, in the car park, two young women were hissing and snarling threats at each other. We stood there watching the cabaret act for a few minutes, and gleaned from other watchers, that the two women had designs on the same young man. It was better than going to the flicks (movies), but then it turned really nasty. One girl sunk her fingernails into the face of the other girl, who then snatched a clump of hair from the others head.

I said to my friend, "I think I should try to separate them!"

My friend dragged me back harshly and told me, "If you interfere, they'll likely turn on you and tear you to bits, you silly sod!"

So, the question I ask is:

Are females more viscious than blokes?

I worked as a Security Guard for teen dances and licenceD events..I could easily handle a disturbance when males were involved…two females. Back up needed

I think with quantity of fights we can say that men have more then women, but the quality and harshness of the fights I think that goes to the women. We can be quite nasty in a quarrel.

I remember in high school that a couple of guys duking it up in the parking lot wouldn't draw much of a crowd but a "skag fight"? It would empty the school.

First, please do not compare these horrible women to cats. (I'm joking of coarse) Though actual cat fights can be pretty intense.

I think women can be more vicious. Perhaps sometimes in different ways.

Agreed. Also most fights that escalate to deadly weapons occur between men. I'd sure rather have someone pull my hair than stick a knife in my gut or shoot me.

Not that I've been in a physical confrontation with anyone since my early teens, and those were always with siblings.

men with a split lip or black eye ...... is "you should see the other guy"
women is ..... "NO, i am not in an abusive relationship " .........bet lots more questions until they heal as well...

Women tend to be more strategic in plotting a revenge move.

When I was in 8th grade we were in class one day and there was a commotion going on in the hall right outside the classroom. Teacher said "everyone stay in you seats", but of course we all ran out in the hall anyway.

There were two 9th grade girls, quite burly by the way, duking it out right there in the hall. Teacher tried to break it up but that was a mistake. He got an elbow in the face. Just before the fight was finally broken up, one girl had the other girl's head in the locker and slammed the locker door on the other's head. Ouch!

Really strange part was the two girls were twin sisters!

One of the saddest things I've seen lately is young women boxing in the ring and everyone thinking it's ok, Young girls in general are definitely more aggressive IMO. My youngest grand daughter's father insists on her taking Tae Kwon do classes and she's only 11 years old.

Men USED TO fight more than women but they almost always fought fairly. If they didn't, then they came off looking like cowards....unless their opponent was a lot bigger, in which case dirty fighting was considered fair; leveled the playing field.

Most women/girls used to refrain from physical fights. They don't anymore. And they fight dirty. But then, probably most of them haven't had any proper training. That includes sparring with their dads (or moms) out in the backyard.

I was also called into the principal's office and questioned by two cops because I'd been seen waking by (not participating in) a fight in which a guy had all, or most, of his ear cut off with a straight razor. Pretty tough school -- Oakland California. Anyhow, I always believed that young girls could be nasty mean to each other -- but usually not violent.

I remember running after some girls with the intention of beating them up when I was in high school. I thought I was tough and the idea of fighting came up more often back then. Old age has given me a different understanding of being tough.

I was also called into the principal's office and questioned by two cops because I'd been seen waking by (not participating in) a fight in which a guy had all, or most, of his ear cut off with a straight razor. Pretty tough school -- Oakland California. Anyhow, I always believed that young girls could be nasty mean to each other -- but usually not violent.

Oh yeah, I think the neighborhood makes a difference.

It does make a difference. Back in the day it was the best high school Oakland had to offer. As it was, racial tensions were high and it seemed the principal was giving us a weekly Rodney King speech -- "can we all get along?". Today, large parts of Oakland can be very rugged. 134 homicides in 2021. There are parts that aren't bad, but the city across the Bay where I live now -- pretty much zero homicides and no need for a gun under the pillow or bars on the windows. Sound OK to you?

I don't think so. I have no intention of going south. It would be nice to visit the museums in San Fransico but I don't want to drive there. I will stick to walking along the river in Eugene, Oregon. San Fransico has much better nightlife but any more I am tired by 7 o'clock and not really interested in going out. It is hard to believe this is me because I remember being different, but I absolutely thrill at the thought of going to bed and listening to a college lecture until I am sound asleep.

I look forward to getting on the internet early in the morning and participating in forums where I can use the information I learn from the lectures. It is kind of like going to college but without the stress.

Several years ago I discovered the more I learn the richer my life seems. By expanding my consciousness, I diminish all my personal problems. Add to that kicking back in a hot tub first thing in the morning and the walks along the river, and I really don't have a need for anything else. I stay out of big cities and the terrifying traffic. Totally different from when I was young and wanted the excitement of cities.
