I have a small kitchen without alot of space ,so I'm eyeing up the top of the fridge for storage. The only problem is.... I need a step stool to
reach it ! ( I'm 5'4" ) I can't reach the top shelf of my cabinets either . It's an old house with 9' ceilings and tall cabinets . My 6' husband is forever reaching things for me. The grocery store is just as bad .Usually there's a tall person that will rescue a lady in distress , but if there's not - I carry around an extendable back scratcher in my purse so I can pull things off the top shelf . If you're "vertically challenged" , what do you have problems with ?

I'm a hair over 5'1". My step stool slides into the narrow space between the fridge and the wall. Even though my fridge is shorter than the average, (condo sized) I still can't reach the top without the step stool.

For top cabinet shelves, I grab the clawed pasta spoon to reach and drag sometimes.

Your extended back scratcher sounds brilliant!

What a great idea. I have one but never thought to take it shopping with me.

That's not short at all Toomuchstuff, the average height of a woman in the United States is just under 5'4". I used to be 5'5", now I'm 5'4ish, and never considered myself short. I've worked alongside men over the years who were my height or shorter than me. At the supermarket, I sometimes help both older men and women reach something high on the shelf.

I will have to consider having a secure step stool in my kitchen in the future though. I'm still doing the risky type of reaching my high cabinets, etc., by using a kitchen chair. My kitchen chairs are vinyl and once I cleaned them with Armor All, stepped up with my slippery socks on and almost took a tumble.

I never used one of those grabbers, but likely will be getting that in the future too. What is you back scratcher made of?

That pic of the hair was like me !!! LOL.

My little backscratcher is made of aluminum. It extends about 3’ and has a little fork thingy on the end. I got it from some junk catalog I got in the mail. It came in handy many times !
