When will he ever let me win?

I played marbles frequently with my grandpa. Looking back, I'm pretty sure he was a champion marble player but I seemed to win most of the time....hmmmmm. I still have a jar of marbles that belonged to him as a child. Most were made of clay or iron but some are beautiful glass.

I'd forgotten all about chinese checkers. I should pull out my games (from the big trunk they're stored in) this Christmas when all my children come. Thanks for reminding me Pappy. I love the photo.

I remember Chinese checkers. If I had a snow day and didn't have to go to school my Mom and I would play all afternoon. My Dad wasn't much on games but loved the card game Big Casino. He would play it with me and always knew when I had the right cards. I'd get so excited and he knew right away from the look on my face.
My Grandma loved to play Old Maid and Lotto. She would make a big pot of tea and we would play on many Sunday afternoons.

I taught my father to play chess. He loved it, but seldom won and I am a horrible chess player.
I taught my son to play chess. I quit when he started beating me consistently.

I gave him the chess board and men to keep.

I also played golf with him. Those are pleasant memories.
