When you were a little kid, where did you think babies came from?

Never really thought much of it. I have no younger sibs, but my brother an d sis in law had their first when I was 6. Since they lived in a different city, not sure I remember if I even saw her pregnant.
Though I do remember when my mom had "the talk" with me, she kind of glossed over the concept of making babies, and where they came from. She told me about my monthly, but never connected it with babies. Never learned that til sex ed in school. SAD

I can't remember ever giving it a single thought as I don't think I particularly cared. But when I was 17 yrs. old and in nursing school, one of our clinical instructors took us to the delivery room and when I saw a baby born, I burst into tears. I was so moved and astonished by the entire event. As time went on, it became a ho-hum routine thing. We become jaded so quickly.

Weeelllll...

My mother left the house and came back a while later with ... groceries.

My mother left the house and came back some time later with ... yet another kid.

Seemed obvious to me. The grocer did it! o_O

Some "city slickers" tried to say that all babies were brought by a white stork. However, I was born & raised out in the country & we country guys sure laughed at that bit of rubbish!

When I was still pretty little , a stray cat followed us home when Mom and I were out for a walk one evening. I named my new cat Sambo, after the kids storybook character, (my favorite at that time).
It was not too long before my mom told me that Sambo was going to have kittens, and she let me watch the whole experience. I was an only child and had never ever thought about where babies came from before that, and this was probably as good of an explanation as anything would have been.

I thought a similar thing. When my sister arrived, I figured she came from Sears. We lived out in the sticks and just about everything except food came from the Sears catalog. So why should a sister be any different?
