I got my new passport last month so it's good until 2033. Now, that schools are back in session, I am looking forward to two trips before the year ends.
Do you have Real ID, there? I think all of the U.S. States have it up and running, now.I'll renew it, for any traveling I might do, and because it's good identification.
When mine expires in a few years, I'll renew. Especially if I can get a new photo — I don't care for the one in mine. LOL!
The photo on your identification documents must be a proper depiction of "How you look today, not 15 years ago ". Here in Canada, your passport photo must be like this........No eyeglasses, no head coverings of any kind, and NO SMILE and the measurements of the passport photo must be exactly as outlined in the information package. JImB.I understand, totally.
However, the last time I renewed my State ID, I wanted to keep my previous photo, but I wasn't allowed to!
Same policy on Driver Licenses, here. It's one and the same State Motor Vehicle office, so the same policies, for either or both, that you get.
Some decades ago, I remember that they gave me the option and the choice, to take a new picture, or re-use the previous photo.
I don't know if younger folks are still given that option or not.
When they told me, this last time, that I was required to take the new photo; I didn't ask ..... why?
Nor did they ask me, why I wanted to stick with my older photo!
