Forgot about Mt Prospect...that’s not in McHenry County.

Not anymore but was married in Chicago and had my two children in Chicago....later we moved to the suburbs..mainly McHenry County.

My son lives in Illinois still but closer to St Louis now...across the river from..a 30 min drive.

Im familiar with both cities, especially Marengo. When we bought our house in Crystal Lake we had to rent a house before we could move in and it was in Union, Illinois....a crappy town right before Marengo. I would shop in Marengo and it had a lot of antique stores and shops to kill some time.

This would have been in the late 80’s.


Hope I’ve not offended anyone by saying Union, Illinois was crappy but it was, lol

We lived there a month and I hated every minute of it and so did my kids, lol
