Where Have All These Christmas Foods Gone?

Real Mandarin oranges from Japan, the kind wrapped in green tissue. The substitutes from China, etc just aren’t as good.

Nuts to crack. These were bought loose by the bagful. They were so inexpensive and half price right after the NY. Thought of these as I saw my unused nut cracker.

Nuts & Bolts. A staple that I made and always got rave reviews. Guess we’re too health conscious now.

We used to have a string of crown figs at Thanksgiving, The leftovers ended up in the Christmas cookies.

Marzipan was another holiday treat that you don’t see much these days.

It makes me sad when kids get fun size candy bars and chocolate chip cookies as holiday treats.

I suppose if the kids are happy I should be happy for them.

Nothing fancy, but canned cranberry sauce has been missing from the grocery store shelves up thru Christmas around here.
Went shopping this morning, and found three cans! sitting on a lonely shelf by themselves. Of course I had to buy them.
