Where is the Your Status page?

I got a notice from the little bell icon at the top of the page that someone posted on "Your Status".
I selected the "your status" blue link from the bell icon and I can see the post there. But how do you get to this "your status" page without going through the bell icon?

Yes, but I wasn't interested in him. I am interested in how you access the "Your Status" page without going through the little bell icon.

When I click on my own name I just get a page with some stats about me but no messages from anyone. When I click the "your status" link in the little bell icon in the upper right blue strip at the top of this page I get a page with several messages on it from several people. But messages under this bell icon soon scroll off and this link will be gone.

After you you click your name, scroll down a bit you should be able to see your status (profile posts).

When I click on my name, I see "Update your status". What does that mean, and what is it that I am updating?
