Which category do you fall into in SF?

I enjoy this forum, and I'd like to think I have many friends here. I do stand up for my (and for others') views. I sometimes fall on the sword for other members when they are attacked, and I call it as I see it. I would also like to think I contribute to the conversation here, start threads that make people think and truly care about the good people here. With that said, here are a few categories that I've observed:

  • Some are just really sweet people, and non-controversial
  • Some are cynical but contribute a lot of great information
  • Some are "thread starters" that inspire us to think about various topics
  • Some contribute current information to keep us updated
  • Some can be overbearing re: their particular beliefs
  • Some are just darned funny and keep us laughing
  • Some are extremely intellectual
  • Some just live for debating
  • Some are here for the camaraderie
  • Some are here for information and support
I may have left out a segment. You don't have to answer me. Just think about which category you fall into.

I appreciate you making this list. I can "see" certain people that fit these categories from SF! However, it's harder for me to see myself in only one category. I'm mostly here for the camaraderie, and for information and support, and to laugh and play games, and, and, and...there's so much to do here, if I had the time. It depends on my mood when I come to SF. Sometimes I'll want to read the thread and not respond because I am too tired to respond. Other times, like now, I'll respond. But when I see the familiar names, like your name, I begin to also, feel as if I have friends here. I've only been on this site since October, and am still coming on here. :)

Checking in as I do most mornings, I'll be off to work shortly. The stimulus of work still motivates me ten years after the UK retirement date. At work it's always a juggling act trying to keep all the balls in the air, it needs a sense of humour to survive. That is why most of my responses are anarchic but I do remember that there are real people on the end of every post, people with feelings that can easily be hurt by a silly insensitive response. Am I the jester, or the silly schoolboy who never grew up?

Sorry I hate being labeled. I see myself as even more diverse than your list. Thanks for the post though. It has turned out to be quite amusing and fun. ā¤ļø

Aside from being extremely intellectual, nor overbearing which of course I'm not...after 8 years here I wouldn't really know how to label myself as a poster on SF tbh..,

When I first joined SF I was working full time.. then 4 years later I retired, and during that time my views of things have changed due to life events... so I dunno... I do know I don't stand for bullies.. everyone whose been here any length of time knows that tho'... but in many ways I've become less confrontational , I just can't be bothered tbh

I'm enjoying my time here.

To be sure, there's bound to be some disparity, but there is in the general population, as well.

I do know how to scroll and, as of yet, haven't needed to use the 'ignore' button.

Long live SF... (thanks @Matrix, I'm sure we all appreciate your efforts...)
what do you mean you don't know how to scroll?.....let us know and we'll teach you...:)
