Who Buys the Christmas Gifts in Your House?

Standing near a man helping chose the gifts for the kids today (yes, I was listening to part of what they said/aka eavesdropping), it reminded me that my ex-husband would never, ever have participated. He didn’t wrap presents. Etc, etc. It was woman’s work.

My husband doesn’t like shopping and would ask for advice after he’d selected something for his sons. At least it wasn’t all on me. He’d help me prep meals for guests, though most decisions were mine.

What’s it like in your home.

We only give to the Grands, who are 24, 21, and 16. The adults don't buy for each other. The Grands get gift cards. None of us are religious so we look at this as a family gathering to be enjoyed with good food, some drinks, the fireplace channel on the big screen TV, and some delicious deserts. Day after the 25th, the oldest son and his wife are flying to Bali for 2 weeks of sun and relaxation. JimB.

The dog is broke, as usual, so I have to float her yet another loan so she can buy the postman a gift for all the grief she caused him. She’s already into me for at least $200.00 and that doesn’t include the $175 Vet bill for her shots and x-ray of her sore left paw, which was only because she had it stepped on by the mailman because she had to greet him everyday by jumping up on him.

Your poor dog is broke because you aren’t paying her for services rendered such as guarding your home and providing you with unlimited love 😂.

I do all the shopping for gifts; I also wrap them. I write Christmas cards but have decided not to; perhaps to a few and not the usual 40+. I do all the cooking. This year hubby started to help me prep our meals and I am thankful. He does not know how to cook. Or he is pretending not to. 😚

My dog. She loves to run. When ‘we’ go jogging, she runs ahead of me. I have to keep her on a short leash because she wants to run out into the street.

She likes going Christmas shopping at Petco. She knows she will get some treats.
