I'm 20 lbs. overweight, but I had fusion back surgery in 2001. So, I can't touch my right foot. Plus, I'm a diabetic. I visit a podiatrist every 6 weeks. We're not springy 18 year olds, anymore. Who does your nails? No, not them, FEET

I would be mortified to have any human being see my feet, let alone work on them. That said, I've been toying with the idea of having a pedicurist try to fix the really thick toenail, on the toe next to my left big toe.

I do a home pedicure every few weeks, soak in hot soapy water, remove dead skin, use these



massage with cream and apply two coats of nail polish when dry

I found a pedicurist that I like and I go every 6 weeks, best $30 I routinely spend ........@Nathan....you won't regret going, just need to find a good one.

Some toes go every which way and each nail is different and requires a different treatment. Some nails are thick or curved and some normal. I use a combination of regular nail clippers, metal file and edge wire cutters. At the same time I'll file down callouses. These are not the same feet I came into the world with.

the only part I do not like is when she works over my heels with the pumis stone. I’m VERY ticklish. It’s a wonder I haven’t kicked someone in the nose!

I go to the foot care clinic at Women's College Family Practice Unit for my toe nails. $20 cost. Every 3 months, treatment by Registered Nurses who are certified for foot care by the Ontario Nurses Association. Great service. JImB.

I'm able to do mine. I have a motorized callus filer & I found a toenail clipper with the right angle to reach all toes:

Luckily my nails are still normal so I cut them myself and use cream nightly on them. I only get a pedicure if I am going on a cruise.

Sounds great but I'd need to have it done about twice a week and couldn't afford it.

I'm still doing my own but it's getting harder by the day. Just bending over that far or getting the foot UP that far is difficult. Also, wherever my feet are, they fall in that range where my distance vision doesn't work and my reading glasses don't either.

I ordered a great kit of pedicure tools from Amazon that have helped immensely. Side clippers are essential to get at the thicker nails.

I'm absolutely no good at posting pictures or links but it is the "Merkaunis Toenail Clippers for Thick Toenails" on Amazon for $13.99. There are two big side clippers with padded grips, a metal file and three different 2-ended instruments for digging around. It comes in a zip-up case, so you can keep them together (which is important for me because the minute I lay something down, the bathroom gremlins come and hide it.....apparently the case is too heavy for them to carry it off...LOL).

I’m fortunate enough to go to VA podiatrist. They looked horrible when I first started going there but he’s got them looking decent now. My back won’t let me do them anymore.
