Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

It was an amazing, groundbreaking movie! Hard to believe it was made so many years ago...

Yes, the live/animation was good, but the story was rather poor. It got great revues, primarily for the visual effects, but it tanked like a lead balloon at the box office. In my opinion, it couldn't decide if it was live comedy, or a cartoon. It wasn't able to combine the two into as a whole. The real people in the film live in reality. The cartoon characters exist in "Toontown". The premise of the movie is that 'toons' exist, but all through the movie, "toons' live in a different world from reality. So, one moment we are asked to believe 'toons' can interact with humans, but then 'toons' exist in Toontown- this nonreality. But then, you have cartoon characters, who act like live humans- not cartoonish. I saw this movie with my girlfriend. I had heard the hype, and wanted to see it. She didn't. I talked her into seeing it. As we were walking out of the movie, she said, "You owe me-BIG TIME".
You either love this movie, or it's a dog.
