Who misses the nostalgia of the "Real" Sci Fi Movies of the 50's and 60's?

I think the technology for exciting sci fi was in it's infancy when Buck Roger was produced.

In 1938, Lieutenant Buck Rogers (Buster Crabbe) and Buddy Wade (Jackie Moran) are part of the crew of a dirigible flying over the North Pole. They are caught in a savage storm and crash. They are ordered to release the experimental Nirvano Gas, which (unbeknownst to them) will put them in suspended animation until they are rescued. The Nirvano Gas works, but the dirigible is buried in an avalanche and is not found until 500 years have passed.

I remember watching one episode that had a rocket ship taking off. You could see the string pulling it up while a sparkler was supposed to be the power. Ah the good old days when an imagination would run wild.

The original The Thing movie scared the heck out of me as a kid.

I loved Forbidden Planet. Here's my Robby the Robot I built from a kit.

With the advent of so many streaming platforms, many of them can be seen whenever one wishes. There are platforms that "specialize" in old movies and B movies (sometimes one in the same). :) I've seen the original version of The Day The Earth Stood Still a couple of times. I also saw the remake. I like the original one better. I also re-watched the original War of the Worlds again a couple of months ago.

I don't remember ever seeing The Angry Red Planet nor Planet of the Vampires.
@Nathan Hulu is featuring some Godzilla movies. Just finished Godzilla: Tokyo SOS last week. Definitely a B movie. :) It had a Japanese cast that I actually liked though previously unknown to me.

Good picks Bella. I've seen all except Seconds. Not sure I'll take time to check it out. But this: "One of the best sci-fi films you've never seen! "Seconds" (1966)" is an intriguing promo that has piqued my curiosity.

I still love the wonderful campy old ones.

Can't remember the name, but there was one where the director had run out of money but was able to get, for free, some gorilla suits missing the heads and some very old diving helmets.

So, that's what the aliens looked like.....gorillas wearing diving helmets. A change from the usual slime monsters with tentacles.

And who can forget "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"?
