Who wants to buy a tablet dirt cheap?

I got one of those crummy Go 3 tablets. Last night it was acting weird. Of course, that was right after it got updated. This morning when it started up the screen went to black, but would go to normal with a mouse movement. But switching from things, the black screen would temporarily appear. Google suggested hitting the restart button. I didn't think that would harm anything. BUT my tablet has been "restarting now for over an hour. Neither the mouse nor the "on" button works.
Any suggestions before I use it as a pot holder.

A black screen on a Surface Go 3 with a cursor, or a device that won't connect after logging in, can be caused by various issues. Troubleshooting steps include disconnecting external devices, performing a hard reset, booting into Safe Mode, updating drivers, running system file checks, and checking for malware. If the issue persists, a USB recovery drive may be necessary.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

1. Disconnect External Devices:
  • Remove any USB drives, SD cards, or other external accessories connected to the Surface Go 3.
2. Perform a Hard Reset:
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then release it and wait 10 seconds before pressing the power button again to turn on the device.
3. Boot into Safe Mode:
  • While on the login screen, press and hold the Shift key and click the power icon, then select Restart.
  • After restarting, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  • In the next restart, select Safe Mode.
