Who's your favorite author?

I almost feel like a dope in comparison to you guys.. the only author anyone's mentioned that I've read is Herman Wouk.
I have favorite topics, and favorite books, more than favorite authors.

BTW: Only Herman Wouk could write a best selling and more so a telling account with the gripping intensity of the stress of command in a time of war like the Caine Mutiny.
