Why Chinese men want to be women

In China, women retire at 50. Men have to wait until they're 60.

A few years ago, a man who lives in China had gender reassignment surgery so he could retire early. Now his story is trending, and Chinese men are saying it's a brilliant idea.

China's economy is in trouble, and thanks to the 1-child policy, there will soon be too few workers to support retirees. Things can only worsen if there's a wave of men having these surgeries to retire early.

side note: the 1-child policy changed recently. The population is now encouraged to have 5 or more children. However, marriage is way down due to high unemployment, severe wage cuts, and elementary schools now charging tuition.

I think you left out the big reason, that women don't want children. I just saw another story where several Chinese guys had wives leave them with the kid and disappear, complaining that the men couldn't provide the women with as much as they wanted.

China has a big Army to absorb the excess of young men who can’t find a wife. This is a great example of how central planning by bureaucrats can backfire big time. Combined with a somewhat lackluster economy, Chinese women are not having babies of any sex. Women live longer and retire earlier….. How’s that working for their equivalent of pension funding?

I sometimes think China should bring back the dowry tradition. Except in this case, young sons should come with a dowry to help them compete for a wife.

I can't find anything to support that statement - one child policy has been reversed and there is now a 3 child cap.

That doesn't mean people are encouraged to have 3 children, just that it is a capped amount.

The one child policy served its purpose - china's population could not keep exponentially increasing.

According to Lei, the woman in that video, the CCP publicly encourages couples to have as many as 5 children. Publicly in China only, that is.

And it is very likely that China's population is not as high as the CCP says it is. But the point Lei makes here is that the economy is far worse than the CCP says it is, and the people are very dissatisfied.

So odd that at one time China only allowed one child per family. Then after years of this, I read that Chinese women (and men) decided that was a good thing. Now it's a bad thing, but the Chinese are still happier with a small family. Of course a lot of what I've learned may be heavily fortified with propaganda from both continents.

Small families may not be good for the economy, but large families don't help overpopulation at all, but there's just one more set of opposing realities that the government can make worse.

Can't find anything to substantiate that though.,

Seems unlikely to be true just because one person in a youtube video says so.
There's very little about China via any form of media that can be accurately substantiated.

Lei, the lady in the video, was born in China and immigrated to the US (or maybe Canada) 30 years ago, so she has only known her country of origin as it is under CCP rule. She has family and friends living in China, she can read Chinese, and has access to Wiebo, a Chinese social media platform, so she has access to lots of inside information.

Interestingly (to me), Lei knows that Xi, China's Premier Leader, believes in many ancient Chinese superstitions, and according to certain omens, knows he might die this year, or at least lose his power over China. So he's been doing some weird things lately...making odd decisions, going places he shouldn't and not going places he should...various things.

In my opinion the main problem is that Chinese women decide whom they marry, not the men. And they are very picky, thus most men don't have a chance.

Here ya go...I knew I had read about them reversing the policy a couple of years ago.

China Reverses One-Child Policy

China has undergone significant changes to its family planning policies, gradually relaxing and eventually reversing its one-child policy. Here’s a brief overview:
  1. 2016: China scrapped its decades-old one-child policy, replacing it with a two-child limit. This change aimed to address the country’s aging population and declining birth rates.
  2. 2021: China further relaxed its family planning policies, allowing married couples to have up to three children. This decision was made to address the ongoing decline in births and to mitigate the impact of an aging population on the economy.
  3. Supportive measures:The government introduced various supportive measures to encourage couples to have more children, including:

One eyed diva - yes that is the information I found too - one child policy now changed to what you said.

That isnt the population being encouraged to have 5 children though as was claimed.

Bearing in mind that a normal work week in China is 15-18 per day, 6 days per week, I would say it's also about overwork, and underpaid work as well; average monthly middle-class earnings is equivalent to about $300 USD.
But... but... m'tariffs, m'tariffs are bad. M'kay?

The CCP has a really bad habit of not thinking ahead.

In the 30s, or might have been the 40s, the CCP told citizens to rid the country of a certain bird....larks or swallows, I don't remember, but one that's very common...because it was eating the wheat. They hung posters and announcements all over the country, paid people so-many yen per dead bird, and people even got job-promotions for killing the most birds.

The people eliminated every single bird, egg, and nest.

The following year, and for many years after, they had a massive locust problem that caused widespread famine. This bird ate locusts, and locusts ate far more wheat way faster than this bird.

I've heard this scenario played out so many times with man making things far worse while trying to fix nature that I couldn't count them all.
