I remember thinking this years and years ago: They all want a male child, then OK, who will they marry? There won't be any young women.

That isnt the population being encouraged to have 5 children though as was claimed.

I was responding to what you wrote which was "That doesn't mean people are encouraged to have 3 children, just that it is a capped amount."
I must have overlooked the 5 children part.
