Why Did This Monster Get A Plea Deal?!

I have little sympathy for someone who commits murder, or any other violent crime. We waste billions of dollar/yr. "warehousing" these idiots, instead of spending that money to help honest people who could use some help. I think a lot of this is happening because many of our prisons are becoming "privatized" and the owners probably donate generously to the political campaigns.

I'm not a fan of Sharia Law, but where murderers are concerned, I think those people have it right....the trial is on Monday, and the execution on Tuesday.

While I understand the sentiment, how do you deal with he possibility of a wrongful conviction? What happens after you execute someone then find out you got the wrong guy?

The standard of proof for that kind type of quick execution would have to be not just beyond a reasonable doubt, but beyond any shred of a doubt whatsoever.

True....but when there is strong evidence, several witnesses, and the thug even admits to the murder, What is the purpose of keeping him fed and housed for decades???

That's a good question. There are some cases in which there is zero doubt about who committed the crime.

It seems like there could be some exception in the due process requirement for such open and shut cases.

But I guess because due process is seen as being the cornerstone of our legal system, they won't fudge under any circumstances.

Inconvenience the system and the taxpayer in order to protect everyone who might find themselves at the mercy of the courts one day.

Not only that, we also pay for all their medical & dental care - which goes up as they age.
Example: Charles Manson had a full dental reconstruction - 30 crowns; all covered.
I had to pay for mine - around $60,000.00.

There is no shortage of nutty women who marry serial killers. Charles Manson, Tex Watson, etc.
I looked up Tex Watson. He got married in prison and had 4 kids. Now who do you think was supporting those kids? Hmm.
