Why do you wear your sunglasses at night?

Just in case a Sophia Loren lookalike comes into my room in the dark and switches the overhead light on.

Did it sometimes when I was a teenager thinking I would look cool. Not since then. Probably not a good idea now because my night vision has gone downhill with age.
