Why don't people be specific when requesting items I have for sale?

A man saw my Marketplace ad and said he did flower arranging and wanted to know if I had any vases and was also interested in garden ornaments. I dug through the boxes I have packed away and got all the vases I have and took a pic. Also sent him one of the garden windmill. He messaged back that none of the items I sent photos of was what he was looking for. Well, he wasn't specific when he asked.

Nice collection there, anyway, Deb.
I especially like the one in upper right corner.

It sure was some effort to respond how you did, to his inquiry. That's surprising he didn't find any he'd like, but who knows why. Why he didn't like any of them, and why he didn't specify in the first place, if he had something very specific in his own mind.

I offered my living room furniture up with the house since it is too large for the apartment. Then the realtor asked how much are you selling it for. Selling? I just wanted to leave it. They bought all my living room furniture.

Then they wanted a bathroom cabinet which I was going to give them, and the dresser in my husbands room, and his end table. And the file cabinets in our study. And a couple bookcases😂 They even wanted to have the lifetime tables our computers sit on and that was a no.

They are coming tomorrow to make sure of what they want furniture wise. The realtor said he will figure out a price on the stuff I was going to give for free 😂 and it will pay for the repairs they demanded be done the house.

So when you move @debodun make sure you charge for anything you want to leave behind. 😂😂😂

I'm pretty sure that would only work, for a home
that was ready-to-move-into, As Is! ;)

And perhaps for modern furniture, too.

And maybe if they are coming from out-of-State, or planning to rent it....

I'm glad that works well for you, Aneeda.
They clearly were not looking for anything as specific as Deb's possible vase-buyer apparently was! ;)

Have you seen Deb's various pictures & description of her home? I don't think move in or rent ready would be what happens.

Yes and a flipper will strip that house down to the studs and redo it, but she does have those bookcases, period stuff that a flipper might want for her house or another. I watch HGTV and the use old stuff off houses all the time. Original door knobs are very popular, as are the doors themselves.

That's exactly what I'd meant, @Knight :)
but my wording was intended to be humorous, so it wasn't clear, I guess.
Those suggestions I made, were possibilities regarding Aneeda's stuff.

I don't think what happened for Aneeda would happen for Deb's house, but who knows, what other people are thinking, sometimes.;)

Probably not as my living room furniture is fairly new, in good condition, and matches 😂.

A flipper could make money if the home sold at a price that was reasonable (super cheap) considering all that has been shown in pics. As for the various items stored & set out for yard sales there is value.

She seems to have a massive amount of odds & ends which makes selling a little more difficult. Maybe donating the misc. to a charity & selling whole sets of her collection would help reduce the need to box & carry with her to the home she is hoping to get.

I've had that problem on the Marketplace as well. I don't have a fancy phone and take my photos with a little digital camera. Then I have to put the photos on the computer and finally get them to the buyer, They sometimes don't even respond.

That happened when my parents bought this house. The owners then had an oak living room set and my mom decided she wanted it because it would look good on the sun porch. They charged my parents $300 (in 1975 dollars) - that would be over $1500 in today's money. I couldn't sell it for $200 on Marketplace or Craig' List. The upholstery has seen better days - would probably cost a month's pension check to have it reupholsterd. There's a sofa, 3 armchairs, a hassock, a octagonal table, oval coffee table and an end table.
