Will Mars Bars ever be the same?

I haven't seen a Mars Bar here in the states in decades. We still have Three Musketeers (my personal favorite all of my life), Milky Way, Snickers, & M&M's. Mars has always been my favorite candy company.

I own the box set of the British TV series Rosemary & Thyme. In one episode there was mention of a Mars Bar. I thought that it was unfair that the UK still had Mars Bars, and the US didn't. This link says that the candy bar was discontinued in the US in 2002.

Milky Ways are getting very hard to find these days, it's rare when I can find one at the register in the stash of impulse buys. It's getting so bad that when I do see one I feel I simply must buy it.

Near death by chocolate, oh dear. I'm glad they were rescued.

Once in a blue moon, I'll snatch a Milky Way Midnight Dark bar at the register. 😋

Oh, I do feel so sorry for you Patti and all the rest of you folks on the other side of the pond.
Just take comfort in the fact that Timmy here has several packs of Mars Bars in the cupboard, come to think of it, I just fancy one, perhaps even two...... got one on the go now..... mmmmm, I think the word I'm looking for is ' heavenly'..... 😊

LOL..me too.. I have a bunch of miniature Mars bars in the fridge... along with some Finger fudges, and mini Crunchie bars. They're not really for me, because I prefer Dark chocolate, but they're in there for when I need a quick sugar hit..

What you have Timoc and Holly, that we can't get in the states, are Dime bars. Oh my goodness gracious, I ate about a hundred of those while I was there.

What gets me at the register is that when I put one of those impulse bars with the grocery load, the cashier always asks if I want it held out to put in my purse. Like she thinks I'm planning to hide it from the family!
How did she guess?

As a young kid in the 1950s, chocolate candy bars were often sold in soda vending machines for a nickle as in 5 cents. Really! Favorite was then and still now, the nougaty 3 Musketeers. At some point vending machines changed that dramatically to a quarter though there was likely a size weight change too.

Andes Mints are my downfall. I'll buy a small bag and eat them before I get to my car in the parking lot.

If I worked at a chocolate factory, here's the kind of call my family would get:

"Hello, this is Richy Rich Chocolate Factory. Is this Jujube's family?"

"Yes, it is. Has something happened to her?"

"Well, she fell into the chocolate tank."

"Oh, no!!! Is she OK?"

"She is now! We had to rescue her three times before we got her subdued and locked up in the break room. Could you come and get her before she falls in again?"

I remember when I'd buy a candy bar from a vending machine. They were 10 cents, but they'd taped two pennies to each bar so they were 8 cents. Most kids just bought the candy, tossed the pennies.

Nope not IMO.. I don't like them, but those that do LOVE them.. but like Marmite I suppose, you either love 'em or hate 'em
Thanks, Holly, I feel a 'yuk' coming on. 😊
