Will The Threat Of Eviction Change Behavior?

The other day I sadly put "For Sale" signs on a summer trailer due to rowdy behavior of certain tenants, one in particular.

Hard to believe that a woman of over 50 could act the way she does. But drunkedness does that to some. Nights find orange strobe lights and dozens of mini lights flashing, a 6 foot high campfire and her thinking that she has the voice of an American Idol which she does not while doing her version of dancing until she falls flat on her keister which she find uproariously funny. Her company cheers on and This goes on till 3 am

Sundays around noon will find her outside in baby doll pajamas screeching "Caesar Sunday" repeatedly, a war cry for her idiot friends to come to the call.

Others have complained to the park, they are well aware of the goings on and toward the end of the season the cops started patrolling occasionally. That worked until the tail lights on the patrol car disappeared.

Now here is the question......just got the park renewal papers in the mail and a lot of new stuff highlighted which I find encouraging. It says that "some" will be interviewed prior to their lease being renewed next fall.

Do you think bad behavior will be curbed this way? Not having a lease renewed would mean you would have to remove not only the trailer but a deck, shed, furniture etc.

I ask as I am wondering if I should remove my sign.

Fall is a long way off /-; Perhaps insist on an escape clause - you will sign the lease if they insert a right for you to cancel it if this doesn't stop? My friend and I rented a cabin for two nights - and the very first night, at a permanent residents cabin, this woman decided to throw all her boyfriend's stuff on a huge bonfire between her place and our little cabin. I called the management, they called the police, they came around 3 AM and talked her down... and left. She immediately resumed, throwing stuff, cursing, screaming, totally out of control. Came to find out, the trailer wasn't even hers. It was the boyfriends. Camping isn't what it used to be. /-;

That can and does happen in many rentals of all kinds. The best thing is to just keep calling the police.

Not easy to do unfortunately....no cell service unless you drive or walk 2 miles up a dark road and should she see a car move then they know something is up. Retaliation has happened, one person had the antennae ripped off their trailer, another had their handicapped parking sign thrown down the ravine. These are just two examples.

Unfortunately threats have little effect on people with this mindset. When forced to move they simply find the next place and the cycle begins again. It's my understanding that it will become harder to evict them due to covid-19. I'd look into alternative ways to persuade them to move along peacefully. ;)
