William Shatner

I take it you're really into William Shatner! :D I was a Star Trek fan. And remember him from that Twilight Zone episode about a man who sees something on the wing of a plane (I think that's what it was)?

Not a Shatster but a Trekster. He should have known humility when Leonard Nimoy rescued him from the degradation of having to live in the back of a pickup truck because he had no money after Star Trek yet Willie S despised George Takai because he lived an alternate lifestyle. If you really love Christ in spite of what the Bible says then you should know that all men are equal.

To me, Shatner was rather "wooden" in his pre-Boston Legal roles. However, in Boston Legal he seemed such a natural fit for the part that I suspect that might be the real life Shatner to some (hopefully lesser) degree.

I'd heard quite awhile ago that he was egotistical. I watched the George Takaei interview you posted which, of course confirms that. Did you know that there's an app that allows people to use Shatner to do a brief monolog about the birthday person (first name only). He has background singers and everything. They stand in front of a neon sign of the person's name. it's funny. I've seen it used twice on Facebook.

His pomposity truly peaked when he started charging fans to get his autograph.

I used to have a small business and years ago I got a call from a William Shatner representative who was selling a marketing promotion in which I could be interviewed by William Shatner about my business in a video that I could use for advertising. I reflexively said I wasn't interested, but in retrospect it is one of my great regrets. It would have been a hoot to do and I'd have a valuable record of it now.
