wireless printer

i have a wireless printer for my chrome book---it was purchased at walmart--they are not very expensive

It's about time for me to get a new one - my laptop can't find the old one, just the tower machine that is wired to it. My SO has an ipad, but we've not tried to print from it.

I print from my I pad to my Canon printer.

I found it easier than printing from my Android phone.

What is the typical range of a basic/cheap wireless printer?

I would consider buying one if I could keep it out of sight in a closet or a cupboard to reduce clutter on my desk.

I thought that all modern printers were wireless, or at
least the function was/is available if you want to use it.
